QUINCY, Ill. - Scott Smith and Wayne Wiseman scored goals Friday night as the Quincy University men’s soccer team defeated Northern Kentucky University, 2-1. Dave Musso and Kevin Vaninger had assists as Quincy (6-1 overall, 3-0 Great Lakes Valley Conference) handed NKU its third consecutive loss. The Norse are 3-4-1 overall, 0-3 in the GLVC. Smith gave Quincy a 1-0 lead at the 38:57 mark with a goal that was assisted by Musso. The Hawks upped their advantage to 2-0 at the 55:31 mark when Wiseman found the net off a pass from Vaninger. NKU sliced the deficit to 2-1 at the 68:17 mark when freshman David Lies scored his third goal of the season. Kevin Holder picked up his second assist of the year on Lies’ goal. NKU will travel to Edwardsville, Ill., on Sunday for a 1 p.m. match against Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. |
