Hawks score in overtime to defeat NKU, 1-0 |

QUINCY, Ill. - The unbeaten streak finally ended for Northern Kentucky University on Friday, and it took an overtime goal by Quincy University to hand the Norse their first loss of the season. Senad Hot scored a goal seven minutes into overtime as Quincy defeated previously unbeaten NKU, 1-0. In the 97th minute of play, Nenad Savic took a corner kick on the winning play and sent it into the box, where it was received by Josh Worth. Worth played the ball and passed it to Hot, who headed in the ball from 10 yards out to give Quincy the upset over 17th-ranked NKU. The Norse - who had allowed just one goal all season before Fridays loss - dropped to 6-1-2 overall, 1-1-1 Great Lakes Valley Conference. Quincy improved to 4-3-3 overall, 2-0-1 in the GLVC. NKU goalie Nate Madden recorded two saves in 97 minutes on Friday. NKU will play at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville at 1 p.m. Sunday. |
