Stegman leads Rivermen past NKU |

WILDER, Ky. - Jeff Stegman scored a pair of goals and added an assist Sunday afternoon as the University of Missouri-St. Louis mens soccer team defeated Northern Kentucky University, 5-0, at the Town & Country Sports Complex. Adam Bimslager, Jim Reiter and Chris Stockmann also scored goals for Missouri-St. Louis, which improved to 2-2 overall, 1-0 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. NKU dropped to 3-3-1 overall, 0-2 in the GLVC. Bimslager gave the Rivermen a 1-0 lead 16 minutes into the match with a goal that was assisted by Stegman. Eight minutes later, Stegman made it 2-0 by blasting in a 25-yard shot. The Rivermen added three goals in the final 15 minutes to seal the victory. Missouri-St. Louis goalies Campbell McLaurin and Adam Barnstead combined for the shutout and three saves. NKU will play a road match at Quincy University this Friday at 6 p.m. |
