HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - The Northern Kentucky University mens soccer team has been picked to finish seventh in the Great Lakes Valley Conference preseason poll. NKU, which posted a 7-12 overall record a year ago, finished 6-5 in the GLVC. The Norse return seven starters from that team. NKU opens the regular season Aug. 25 with a match against Truman State University at the Town & Country Sports Complex in Wilder, Ky. Truman State is ranked No. 21 nationally in the NCAA Division II poll. Lewis University, an NCAA Division II Final Four participant a year ago, is the preseason choice to win the GLVC. 2001 GLVC mens soccer poll 1. Lewis - 96 (8 first-place votes) 2.
