Walters, Rudolph each score goals to lead Norse |

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Randy Walters and Nathan Rudolph each scored goals Friday as the Northern Kentucky Universitys mens soccer team posted a 2-0 win over Bellarmine University. Nate Madden recorded the shutout as NKU improved to 9-2-2 overall, 4-2-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. It was the ninth shutout of the season for Madden, who finished with seven saves. Walters gave NKU a 1-0 lead 13 minutes into the second half when he took a feed from Tony Cullum and beat Bellarmine goalie Brad Lipe for a score. It was the third goal of the fall for Walters, who also has five assists this season. Rudolph added an insurance goal in the 78th minute when he drilled a shot from the right side past Lipe and into the net. The goal was the first of the season for Rudolph. Bellarmine held an 18-15 edge in shot attempts, but Maddens play in the net kept the Knights from scoring. Bellarmine dropped to 6-6-2 overall, 2-4-1 in the GLVC. NKU will play a road game at Kentucky Wesleyan College at 1 p.m. Sunday. |
