OWENSBORO, Ky. - Jeff Anderson and Jeremy Robertson scored two goals each Sunday as the Northern Kentucky University men’s soccer team defeated Kentucky Wesleyan College, 6-0.
Anthony Segreti added a goal and an assist as NKU improved to 6-8-2 overall, 3-6-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The Norse were eliminated from GLVC Tournament contention on Friday as a result of a 1-0 loss at Bellarmine University.
Anderson gave NKU a 1-0 lead at the 30:40 mark off an assist from Robertson. The Norse held a 1-0 halftime lead, but Robertson scored a pair of goals during the first 20 minutes of the second half to extend NKU’s advantage to 3-0.
Anderson’s second goal at the 68:37 mark made it 4-0, and Kevin Holder upped the lead to 5-0 with a score six minutes later. The Norse held a 27-5 advantage in shot attempts, and goalie Michael Braun recorded the shutout for NKU.
NKU will conclude the season next weekend with road matches at Truman State University (1 p.m. Saturday) and Rockhurst (Mo.) University (1 p.m. Sunday).
