Flick, Walters spark Norse past Panthers |

WILDER, Ky. - Randy Walters scored a pair of goals Friday night as the Northern Kentucky University mens soccer team defeated Kentucky Wesleyan College, 4-0, at the Town & Country Sports Complex. Matt Flick and Nadeem Al-Alami also added goals for NKU, which improved to 3-4-1 overall, 1-0-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Flick also recorded a pair of assists for the Norse, who held a 22-4 advantage in shots. Flick gave NKU a 1-0 lead at the 35:15 mark by firing in a shot from 16 yards out. Walters extended the Norses advantage to 2-0 six minutes later by taking a cross from Flick and beating Kentucky Wesleyan goalie Marc Huesing for the score. Al-Alami made it 3-0 at the 66:47 mark off an assist from Jeremy Robertson, and Walters capped the scoring three minutes later with a goal that was assisted by Flick. Nate Madden and Michael Braun combined for the shutout and four saves. NKU will play host to Bellarmine University at 2:30 p.m. Sunday. |
