TRUMAN STATE ROLLS PAST NKU, 7-0, ON SATURDAY

 

KIRKSVILLE, Mo. - Matt Byers scored three goals Saturday afternoon as Truman State University defeated Northern Kentucky University, 7-0, in a men’s soccer match.

Ryan Swan added two goals for Truman State, which improved to 12-3-1 overall. The Bulldogs built a 3-0 halftime lead as Swan, Byers and Brian Werner all scored goals in the first half. Swan added his second goal early in the second half, and Byers added two more goals after intermission. TSU outshot NKU 25-11 during the match, and Bulldogs goalie T.J. Dube picked up the shutout with four saves.

NKU dropped to 7-10-1 with the loss and will close out the season on Sunday with a match at Lincoln (Mo.) University.
