Norse men ink local prep standouts |

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - The following individuals have signed national letters of intent to attend Northern Kentucky University and play mens soccer next fall: Matt Cole, an All-Greater Miami Conference selection at Fairfield High School. Cole, a defender, was named the Indians most valuable player on defense last fall. Tony Cullum, an All-Greater Miami Conference selection at Colerain High School. Cullum scored 16 goals and added 12 assists as a senior to lead the GMC in scoring. He also earned first team All-City honors in 2002. Matthew Flick, who earned All-Cincinnati Hills League honors last fall at Finneytown High School. Flick scored 25 goals as a senior and was also named first team All-City. Jeff Jeremiah, a first team All-Greater Catholic League selection at Elder High School. Jeremiah scored 10 goals and added eight assists for the Panthers, who captured the GCL championship. Nathan Rudolph, who earned All-Cincinnati Hills League honors after scoring eight goals and finishing with 17 assists for Finneytown last year. Rudolph also was named first team All-City. Chris Thompson, who earned Greater Catholic League Player of the Year honors in 2002 after scoring 18 goals for Elder High School. Thompson also was named All-State in Ohio in 2002. Those recruits will join an NKU mens soccer program that posted a 6-10-2 overall record last season. The Norse were 3-6-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. |
