Norse senior pitcher receives honor after tossing no-hitter

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Northern Kentucky University softball player Jamie Moore has been named Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week.

Moore, a senior pitcher and a graduate of Lakota High School, hurled a 4-0 no-hitter against the University of Missouri-St. Louis last Saturday. Moore also recorded eight strikeouts in that game.

Moore also recorded a 3-1 win over Quincy (Ill.) University on Sunday. She allowed eight hits and one earned run in that game. Moore now has 251 career strikeouts, which ranks No. 2 in Norse history. She also owns a 7-5 record with a 1.56 earned run average this season.

NKU senior pitcher Kim Bina is No. 1 in school history with 253 strikeouts.
