Norse shoot 309 (+25) during second round of NCAA national finals |

ALLENDALE, Mich. - The Northern Kentucky University mens golf team finished with a second-round total of 309 (+25) Wednesday at the NCAA Division II national finals, and the Norse are tied for 17th place with a two-day total of 630 (+62) at the 72-hole tournament. Freshman Brandon Brown shot a 2-over-par 73 Wednesday at the Meadows Golf Course and is NKUs top individual after two rounds. Brown is currently tied for 10th place in the individual competition with a total of 147. Brown, a graduate of Shelby County High School, trails individual leader Steve Sokol of Florida Southern College by eight strokes going into Thursdays third round. Sokol is at 139 after two rounds. Florida Southern, the three-time defending NCAA Division II national champion, is the leader after two rounds at 574 (+6). The Moccasins hold a one-stroke lead over the University of West Florida (575) going into the third round. The 72-hole tournament will continue through Friday. |
