Parsons leads NKU with 3-over-par 75 |

LEITCHFIELD, Ky. - The Northern Kentucky University mens golf team posted a second-place finish at the NCAA Division II Great Lakes Region Invitational with a score of 312. The Norse tied with Northwood (Mich.) University at 312 in the team standings, but NKU won a playoff to capture second-place honors. NKU senior golfer Brandon Parsons tied for fifth place in the individual competition with a 3-over-par 75 at the Lafayette Golf Course. NKUs Curtis Phelps tied for ninth place with a 4-over-par 76, while teammate David Shearer posted a 12th-place finish with a score of 77. The tournament was originally scheduled for two rounds, but inclement weather forced the cancellation of Saturdays first 18 holes. Saginaw Valley State University won the team championship with a score of 308 (+20). |
