NORSE PLACE FOURTH AT TOURNEY

Shearer posts second-place finish with a 146

AUBURN, Ind. - The Northern Kentucky University men’s golf team posted a fourth-place finish at the Great Lakes Region Spring Invitational on Monday with a two-day score of 607.

NKU freshman David Shearer finished tied for second place in the individual competition with a two-day total of 146 (+4) at the par-71 Deer Track Golf Course. Shearer shot a 4-over-par 75 during the final round of play on Monday and tied Lewis University’s Jason Buffone for runner-up honors.

Kevin Kremer of Grand Valley State University won the individual title with a two-day total of 144. Grand Valley State also took the team championship with a total of 593.

NKU’s Curtis Phelps shot rounds of 74-79 for a score of 153 and tied for 20th place. The Norse’s Glenn Davidson finished with a two-day score of 154 and placed 23rd.
