Norse’s Warken wins medal at GLVC Championships |

COLUMBUS, Ind. - Northern Kentucky University men’s golfer Jim Warken defeated Jason Buffone of Lewis University in a one-hole playoff Tuesday to capture medalist honors at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships. Warken shot rounds of 69-79-77 to finish with a 9-over-par 225 at the Otter Creek Golf Course, while Buffone shot 72-75-78 to also total 225. Warken, however, defeated Buffone in the one-hole playoff to earn the medal and GLVC Player of the Year honors. Lewis captured the team championship with a three-round total of 910, while Bellarmine University finished second with a score of 920. NKU posted a third-place finish with a total of 927. NKU’s Brandon Parson’s took 19th place in the individual competition with a three-round total of 236 (+20), and teammate Glenn Davidson tied for 24th place with a 238 (+22). |
