NKU DEFEATS SHAWNEE STATE, 91-58

Norse hit 14 of 39 three-point shots to remain unbeaten (3-0)

 

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Craig Conley scored 16 points and had four steals Tuesday night as the Northern Kentucky University men’s basketball team defeated Shawnee State University, 91-58, in Regents Hall.

The Norse (3-0) rallied from an early 15-5 deficit by making 10 of 23 three-point attempts before halftime. NKU used a 46-14 run in the final 12 minutes of the first half to take a 51-29 lead into halftime. The Norse also forced Shawnee State (1-2) into 17 first-half turnovers.

Conley, Brian Lawhon (13 points), Scott Marston (9 points) and Brenden Stowers (11 points) all made a trio of three-point shots against Shawnee State. The Norse finished 14 of 39 as a team from three-point range and won the rebounding battle by a 38-37 margin.

Kevin Listerman and Billy Brewster both scored 10 points for NKU, and Listerman added five steals and five assists. Jay Hall led Shawnee State with 18 points.

NKU will be in action again this Saturday afternoon in Regents Hall when Olivet Nazarene (Ill.) University visits for a 2:15 p.m. game.
