Norse mens basketball duo named All-GLVC |

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Northern Kentucky University mens basketball players Jesse Rupe and Mike Kelsey have been named second team All-Great Lakes Valley Conference. Rupe, a senior center from Zanesville, Ohio, averaged 15.8 points and 7.3 rebounds per game this season. He also shot 51 percent from the field and led NKU with 37 blocked shots. Rupe finished his career with 889 career points, which ranks 29th in Norse history. Kelsey, a junior guard from Cincinnati, Ohio, averaged 16.9 ppg and made 83-of-202 three-point attempts this season. He also scored a school-record 50 points against the University of Indianapolis on Jan. 2. Kelsey, a graduate of Elder High School, will enter his senior season 19th on the NKU all-time scoring list with 1,130 career points. Lewis Universitys Monta McGhee was named GLVC Player of the Year. Jim Whitesell, who led Lewis to the GLVC regular-season title, was named GLVC Coach of the Year.
