HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Northern Kentucky University’s Brian Lewin has been named Great Lakes Valley Conference co-Player of the Week in men’s basketball.
Lewin, a freshman forward and a graduate of Covington Catholic High School, scored a career-high 29 points Saturday as NKU defeated the University of Missouri-St. Louis, 88-85, in Regents Hall. Lewin made 9-of-12 shots from the field and connected on five three-point shots in that game.
He scored five points in the final three minutes as NKU held off a late rally by Missouri-St. Louis.
Lewin started the week by scoring 11 points during a 92-60 win over Thomas More College. For the week, he averaged 20.0 ppg, 7.0 rebounds, shot 13-of-22 from the field (59.1 percent) and made 8-of-11 three-pointers (72.7 percent).
Lewin shared the GLVC weekly honor with Dontae Truitt of Kentucky Wesleyan College.
