HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Northern Kentucky University men’s basketball player Mike Kelsey and Norse men’s tennis standout Amine Benjelloun have been selected as the Great Lakes Valley Conference Scholar Athletes of the Year in their respective sports.
Kelsey, who will be a junior in 2003-04, averaged 14.5 points per game last season and is a member of the GLVC All-Academic Team. Kelsey also helped NKU win its first-ever GLVC Tournament championship last season en route to a 25-6 record.
Benjelloun, who will be a senior next season, earned All-GLVC honors this past spring after leading NKU to its first conference championship since 1990. Benjelloun is also a member of the GLVC All-Academic Team.
