NKU improves to 17-2 with road victory |

QUINCY, Ill. - Carl Mitchell scored 22 points and grabbed nine rebounds Thursday night as the Northern Kentucky University mens basketball team defeated Quincy (Ill.) University, 76-64. Craig Sanders added 17 points as NKU improved to 17-2 overall, 8-2 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Quincy dropped to 7-9, 3-7 in the GLVC. The Norse are ranked No. 3 nationally in the Division II poll. NKU is also No. 3 in the latest NCAA Division II Great Lakes Region ratings. Craig Conley scored 13 points and dished out five assists for the Norse, who connected on 10 of 27 three-point attempts. Brian Lawhon scored 12 points on four three-point shots. NKU now leads the all-time series with Quincy, 10-1. The Norse own a 4-1 record in Quincys Pepsi Arena. The loss came during the 1998-99 season, when Quincy pulled out an 86-83 win in overtime. NKU will play at the University of Missouri-St. Louis at 4:15 p.m. Saturday.
