HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - The Northern Kentucky University mens basketball team is 15-2 after posting a 100-69 win over Bellarmine University Thursday night in Regents Hall. The Norse, ranked No. 7 nationally in the Division II poll, are 6-2 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. NKU will play host to third-ranked Kentucky Wesleyan College (13-1, 7-1 GLVC) at 3:15 p.m. Saturday in Regents Hall. Kentucky Wesleyan is the three-time defending champion of the GLVC. Todd Clark scored a season-high 26 points and grabbed seven rebounds Thursday night as NKU rolled past Bellarmine. Clark made 10 of 11 shots from the field and had seven rebounds. REGENTS HALL STREAK: NKU enters Saturday afternoon with a 24-game winning streak in Regents Hall. The last team to beat NKU in Regents Hall was the University of Indianapolis, which posted an 81-71 victory over the Norse on Feb. 9, 1999. PANTHER STREAK AGAINST NKU: Kentucky Wesleyan enters Saturday with a five-game winning streak against NKU. The Norse have not defeated the Panthers since the 1997-98 season, when they posted an 83-76 victory in Regents Hall. Since that win in 1997-98, NKU has lost five consecutive games against Kentucky Wesleyan. Two years ago, Kentucky Wesleyan defeated NKU three times - the only time in history the Norse have lost to an opponent three times in one season. CONLEY MOVING UP LIST: NKU senior guard Craig Conley has scored 1,274 career points, which is No. 13 in NKU history. He needs two points to move into 12th place ahead of former Norse standout Dan Fleming (1,275 career points), who was Conleys prep coach at LaSalle High School in Cincinnati. CENTURY MARK: After Thursdays 100-69 win over Bellarmine, NKU has now scored at least 100 points in four games this season. GLVC LEADER: NKU senior forward/center Adam Norwell leads the GLVC in field goal percentage at .680. Norwell averages 9.7 ppg and 5.6 rebounds per contest. ABOUT KENTUCKY WESLEYAN: The Panthers are 13-1 after pulling out a 94-90 win at the University of Indianapolis on Thursday. Kentucky Wesleyan is 7-1 in the GLVC. The Panthers feature six players who score in double figures, led by junior forward Ronald Evans' 13.8 points per game. Junior forward Thad Key averages 13.2 ppg and is shooting 56.9 percent from the field. Senior guard Lorico Duncan is scoring 13.2 ppg and leads the team with 36 steals. THE LAST TIME AGAINST KENTUCKY WESLEYAN: On March 11, 2000, in the semifinals of the NCAA Division II Great Lakes Region Tournament at Owensboro, Ky., Kentucky Wesleyan rallied for a 66-62 win. Leroy John scored 21 points and grabbed 15 rebounds to lead the Panthers. NKU held a 32-29 lead at halftime. KWC, however, made 15 of 23 free throws in the second half and limited NKU to just 3 of 12 shooting from three-point range during the final 20 minutes. Scott Marston led NKU with 17 points, and Craig Sanders added 12 points. Lorico Duncan scored 18 points for KWC, which won the rebounding battle by a 46-28 margin. The Panthers also had 17 offensive rebounds in that game.
