NKU DEFEATS QUINCY, 110-91

Conley records double-double as NKU improves to 24-5

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Craig Conley scored 21 points and collected 11 assists Saturday afternoon as the Northern Kentucky University men’s basketball team defeated Quincy University, 110-91, in Regents Hall.

Brian Lawhon added 22 points for NKU, which improved to 24-5 overall, 15-5 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The Norse are ranked No. 15 nationally in the Division II poll.

Conley now has 501 career assists, and he needs 29 to break the NKU all-time record of 529 (held by Shannon Minor). It was Conley’s second straight double-double.

NKU made 17 of 34 three-point attempts and shot 52.8 percent from the field. Todd Clark grabbed a career-high 17 rebounds for the Norse, and Craig Sanders added 16 points.

NKU built a 56-36 halftime lead by shooting 57.6 percent from the field in the first half. The Norse also made 10 of 17 three-point attempts in the first half.

NKU will play its first GLVC Tournament game on Thursday (March 1) at Roberts Stadium in Evansville, Ind. The Norse, seeded No. 3 in the GLVC Tournament, will meet No. 6 seed Missouri-St. Louis at 3:30 p.m. (EST).
