HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Carl Mitchell scored 28 points, grabbed seven rebounds and blocked three shots Monday night as the Northern Kentucky University mens basketball team defeated Shawnee State University, 105-68, in Regents Hall. NKU, ranked No. 4 nationally in the Division II poll, has now won 22 consecutive home games dating back to the 1998-99 season. Zach Wieber added 16 points and 12 rebounds for the Norse, and Craig Conley added eight points and 11 assists. Brian Lawhon scored 15 points as NKU improved to 10-0. The 10-0 start is NKUs best since the 1996-97 season, when the Norse began the year with 12 consecutive victories. The streak was snapped at Owensboro, Ky., when Kentucky Wesleyan posted a 75-74 victory against the Norse. |
