NKU GOLFERS WIN KRUMP KUP

Norse’s Newton takes medal at Boone Links

FLORENCE, Ky. - Lindsay Newton shot a 10-over-par 82 Wednesday to capture medalist honors as Northern Kentucky University won the Montgomery Inn Krump Kup with a combined women’s and men’s team score of 323 at Boone Links.

NKU golfer Leslie Fossitt shot an 83 to finish second, and the Norse’s Kim Keyer-Scott totaled 84 and finished third in the individual competition.

In the men’s competition, NKU’s Jim Warken and Bellarmine’s Ryan Spohr tied for medalist honors with 5-over-par 77s. NKU golfers Jerod Cahill and Rob Martin both shot 81 and finished tied for ninth.

The Krump Kup is decided by the top two men’s individual scores and top two women’s individual scores combined.
