NKU IN 8TH PLACE AFTER 2ND ROUND OF NCAAs
Norse drop six places during second-round play on Tuesday
ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - The Northern Kentucky University men’s golf team is now in eighth place after two rounds at the NCAA Division II North Regional Tournament with a two-round total of 614 at the Mistwood Golf Course.
NKU managed just a team score of 318 on Tuesday at the par-72 Mistwood Golf Course, one day after finishing the first round in second place with a score of 296. Steve Landrum was NKU’s top finisher on Tuesday with a 4-over-par 76. Drew Von Lehman shot a 78 on Tuesday and is now in 20th place in the individual competition with a two-round score of 151. Scott Stark, who shot a 73 on Monday, finished with an 85 on Tuesday and is now tied for 55th place.
The final round will be played on Wednesday, and the top five teams in the NCAA North Regional Tournament will advance to the NCAA Division II Championships May 16-19 at Turlock Country Club in Turlock, Calif. The national finals will be hosted by California State University at Stanislaus.
NKU has not advanced to the NCAA Division II Championships since the 1996 season, when the Norse posted a 12th-place finish at the national finals.
