CRAWFORD NAMED WOMEN’S TENNIS COACH

NKU’s Crawford to coach both men’s and women’s tennis teams

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Northern Kentucky University athletic director Jane Meier announced Thursday that Geoff Crawford has been named head coach for the Norse’s women’s tennis program.

Crawford, who has been at NKU since 1990 as the men’s tennis head coach, will add the women’s tennis duties this fall. He takes over for J. Webb Horton, who resigned as the NKU women’s tennis head coach to accept a position at Florida Gulf Coast University.

“Geoff is very familiar with our women’s tennis team, and this is a good opportunity,” Meier said, noting NKU has won three consecutive Great Lakes Valley Conference championships. “We have some very good players returning, and I think that Geoff’s background and experience make him an ideal candidate to keep the program successful.”

Crawford has led the NKU men’s tennis team to five consecutive winning seasons. He will inherit a women’s program that features three-time GLVC Player of the Year Jamie O’Hara.
