NKU WINS GLVC COMMISSIONER’S CUP

Norse capture inaugural GLVC award

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Northern Kentucky University has won the inaugural Great Lakes Valley Conference Commissioner’s Cup.

NKU finished with 81 total points to edge the University of Indianapolis (80 points) for the Commissioner’s Cup. The award is based the best finishes in 10 sports (five women’s, five men’s) for each institution.

NKU captured GLVC championships in women’s soccer, women’s golf, men’s basketball and men’s tennis in 2002-03. NKU also posted second-place finishes in the regular season in volleyball, softball and women’s basketball this past academic year.

NKU had won the GLVC All-Sports Trophy for three straight years, but Indianapolis claimed that award in 2003. NKU finished third in the All-Sports Trophy standings.
