Brian Neal enters his sixth season as an assistant women’s basketball coach at Northern Kentucky University.

Neal assists in all areas of coaching, scouting, recruiting and summer camp preparation for the Norse. During Neal’s first five seasons at NKU, the Norse have posted an 139-25 record, won four GLVC championships, advanced to the NCAA Division II Final Four twice (1999, 2003) and captured the 2000 national title.

In addition, NKU made it to the national championship game last season - the second time in four years the Norse advanced to the NCAA finals. NKU has advanced to the NCAA Division II Elite Eight four times (1999, 2000, 2002 and 2003) during Neal’s five years with the Norse.

A 1991 graduate of NKU, Neal spent six seasons as an assistant women's basketball coach at Wilmington College, an NCAA Division III school in Wilmington, Ohio, where the Lady Quakers posted back-to-back 20-win campaigns in his final two years.

In addition to coaching basketball at Wilmington, Neal served as the school's sports information director for seven years. He also received five "Citations of Excellence" from the College Sports Information Directors of America for his athletic publications.

Neal and his wife, Amy, reside in Taylor Mill, Ky., with their two daughters, Allison (7) and Madison (5).
