HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - The Sunday Challenger Classic will be held Dec. 20-21 in Regents Hall, and the event will feature four of the nation’s top NCAA Division II women’s basketball programs.
Northern Kentucky University will play Shaw (N.C.) in the first round at 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 20. Fort Valley (Ga.) State will meet Glenville State at 5:30 p.m. in the other first-round game that evening.
The consolation game will be held at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 21, followed by the championship at 7:30 p.m.
NKU will enter The Sunday Challenger Classic with a 3-5 record, but the Norse have won three straight games. Shaw is currently unbeaten (3-0) and ranked seventh nationally in the Division II poll.
Fort Valley State owns a 5-2 record, while Glenville State is 3-2.
The event is being sponsored by The Sunday Challenger newspaper of Northern Kentucky.
