NKU WOMEN FINISH 7TH AT GLVC CHAMPIONSHIPS

 

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Northern Kentucky University women’s cross country team posted a seventh-place finish at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships on Saturday at the University of Indianapolis.

Tabatha Smith was NKU’s top finisher in the six-kilometer race with a time of 24:07, which was 22nd in the individual competition. The Norse’s Kristin Spencer posted a 39th-place finish with a time of 24:46, and Molly Petty was 44th with a time of 25:04.

Southern Indiana captured the women’s GLVC Championships title with a final score of 43. Wisconsin-Parkside was second with a score of 58, followed by Southern Illinois at Edwardsville (90), Lewis (101), Bellarmine (141), Indianapolis (160), NKU (180), Saint Joseph’s (186), and Indiana-Purdue at Fort Wayne (255).

 

NKU MEN POST 8TH-PLACE FINISH AT GLVC RACE

 

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Northern Kentucky University men’s cross country team posted an eighth-place finish at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships on Saturday at the University of Indianapolis.

Kevin Alessandro posted a 24th-place finish with a time of 34:43 for the NKU men in the 10-kilometer race. Ryan Carskadon was 28th with a time of 34:54, and Brian Alessandro finished 46th in a time of 35:49.

Lewis won the men’s GLVC Championships title with a score of 28, and Southern Indiana was second with a final score of 46. Indianapolis was third with a score of 85, followed by Wisconsin-Parkside (92), Indiana-Purdue at Fort Wayne (149), Saint Joseph’s (169), Bellarmine (181), NKU (199) and Southern Illinois at Edwardsville (227).
