FAULKNER SETS NKU RECORD

Norse freshman sets school record for second straight week

RICHMOND, Ky. - Northern Kentucky University freshman runner Lissa Faulkner set a Norse women’s cross country record for time in the five-kilometer run Friday by completing the Eastern Kentucky University Invitational in 18 minutes, 55 seconds.

Faulkner had set the NKU record the previous week at the Walt Disney World Cross Country Classic with a time of 19:08, shattering the previous mark of 19:18. On Friday, Faulkner once again broke the record and posted a 14th-place finish in the individual competition.

As a team, NKU posted a fifth-place finish with a score of 117.

In the men’s race, NKU sophomore Ryan Carskadon finished the eight-kilometer course in 26:52, which was good for 11th place. The Norse posted a sixth-place finish in the meet.
