NKU’S BUROKER EARNS GLVC PLAYER OF THE WEEK

 

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Northern Kentucky University’s Jessica Buroker has been named Great Lakes Valley Conference volleyball Player of the Week.

Buroker, a junior middle hitter from Bluffton, Ohio, had 24 kills and a .585 hitting percentage Saturday afternoon as NKU defeated the University of Missouri-St. Louis, 15-2, 13-15, 15-9, 15-1, at St. Louis, Mo.

Buroker, who leads the Great Lakes Valley Conference in hitting percentage (.441), recorded the 24 kills on 41 attempts with no errors. She also had 10 digs and a service ace as NKU won its 15th consecutive match.

This is the third time this season that Buroker has earned GLVC Player of the Week honors. NKU senior outside hitter Jenny Jeremiah has also won the honor three times this season.

NKU is 22-1 overall and ranked No. 4 nationally in the NCAA Division II poll.
