BREITHOLLE EARNS GLVC HONOR

Norse freshman named GLVC Pitcher of the Week

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Northern Kentucky University’s Emily Breitholle has been named Great Lakes Valley Conference Pitcher of the Week. Breitholle, a freshman and a graduate of Fairfield High School, posted a 3-0 record and had a 1.67 earned run average last week as the Norse set a school record for victories (36) in a season. Breitholle had 11 strikeouts in a 6-2 win at Saint Joseph’s College, and she picked up wins against No. 2 Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville and University of Southern Indiana to close the week. For the week, Breitholle had three complete games, 16 strikeouts and allowed just four earned runs in 21 innings. She is now 20-3 and is the first NKU softball player to ever win 20 games in a season.
