NKU’S GASTRIGHT EARNS GLVC HONOR

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Northern Kentucky University’s Bethany Gastright has been named Great Lakes Valley Conference volleyball Player of the Week.

Gastright, a sophomore outside hitter and a graduate of Holy Cross High School, had 57 kills and a .472 hitting percentage last week to lead the Norse to three victories. Gastright had 20 kills and no errors (.588 hitting percentage) in a win against Lewis on Friday, and she came back to post 16 kills and a .467 hitting percentage in a victory against Wisconsin-Parkside on Saturday.

She later added 21 kills that same day in a victory over Saginaw Valley State as NKU won its 18th consecutive match. Gastright is tied for No. 2 on the team with 319 kills, and she has a .309 hitting percentage.

NKU is 25-1 and ranked No. 4 nationally in the NCAA Division II poll.
