Norse senior named Player of the Week for third time in 2001

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Northern Kentucky University’s Bethany Gastright has been named Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week in volleyball. Gastright, a senior outside hitter, averaged 24 kills and had a .597 hitting percentage this weekend as NKU won a pair of road matches at Bellarmine University and Kentucky Wesleyan College. Gastright recorded 24 kills in 34 attempts with no errors (.706) in the win at Kentucky Wesleyan on Saturday as the Norse won their 16th straight match. Gastright - who has been named GLVC Player of the Week three times this season - now has 1,554 career kills, which ranks No. 4 in NKU history.
