Norse to face Indianapolis in GLVC Tournament elimination game |

EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. - Josh Clark hurled a five-hit shutout Saturday afternoon as the Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville baseball team defeated Northern Kentucky University, 1-0, in the third round of the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament. Todd Haug drove in the game’s only run in the second inning as SIUE improved to 36-22 and advanced to the championship round of the GLVC Tournament. Senior pitcher Kyle Pfetzer allowed just six hits and had 10 strikeouts for NKU, which dropped to 38-20. The Norse are now 2-1 in the double-elimination GLVC Tournament will face the University of Indianapolis at 5 p.m. today in an elimination game. The winner of the NKU/Indianapolis game will advance to Sunday’s championship round of the GLVC Tournament against SIUE. |
