NKU EXTENDS WIN STREAK TO NINE GAMES

Norse post wins against North Dakota State, Edinboro

FT. MYERS, Fla. - Steve Walton’s run-scoring single with one out in the bottom of the seventh inning Monday lifted the Northern Kentucky University baseball team to a 6-5 win over North Dakota State University.

Walton’s hit drove in Pat Eschan with the winning run. NKU’s Joe Nash pitched three scoreless innings in relief to pick up the victory.

In the second game, NKU posted a 10-0 win over Edinboro (Pa.) University. Shaun Erie had four hits and two RBI for NKU, which won its ninth consecutive game.

Freshman right-hander Chad Anderson hurled a six-hit shutout against Edinboro to record his first collegiate win. Anderson also had eight strikeouts.
