NKU LOSES TWICE AT LINDSEY WILSON

Norse open season by dropping doubleheader at LWC

COLUMBIA, Ky. - Senior catcher Beau Grissim’s pinch-hit RBI double in the bottom of the seventh inning Sunday afternoon gave Lindsey Wilson College a 5-4 win over Northern Kentucky University and completed a doubleheader sweep by the Blue Raiders.

Lindsey Wilson also won the first game of the doubleheader, 10-1, as the Blue Raiders’ Josh Messer tossed a seven-hitter against NKU. Aaron Randall and Steve Dover both homered twice to lead the Lindsey Wilson offensive attack.

In the nightcap, NKU’s Jason Martin tied the game at 4-4 in the top of the seventh inning with an RBI single. That set the stage for Grissim, whose two-out double scored the winning run.

NKU, which opened the 2000 season on Sunday, dropped to 0-2. Lindsey Wilson is now 2-3.
