NKU SPLITS TWO WITH UM-ST. LOUIS

Norse win nightcap, 10-4, to earn split

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Alex Frank, Keith Jackson and Justin Mundt combined for seven hits and seven runs in the nightcap Saturday as the Northern Kentucky University baseball team posted a 10-4 win over the University of Missouri-St. Louis at the Bill Aker Baseball Complex at Friendship Field.

Norse right-hander Derrik Moeves scattered five hits in six innings of work on the mound to record the win for NKU, which improved to 9-11 overall, 2-4 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Frank collected three hits and four runs batted in for the Norse, while Jackson added two doubles and a pair of RBI.

Mundt finished 2-for-4 with three runs scored for NKU, which used a 14-hit attack to earn the doubleheader split. Conor McGeehan added two hits and scored twice for the Norse.

In the opener, Missouri-St. Louis held off NKU, 4-2.

The two teams will conclude the four-game series at noon Sunday with a doubleheader at the Bill Aker Baseball Complex at Friendship Field.
