Norse to meet GLVC-leading Rangers this weekend |

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - The Northern Kentucky University baseball team will travel to Kenosha, Wis., this weekend to meet the University of Wisconsin-Parkside in a four-game series. NKU and Wisconsin-Parkside will meet in a 1 p.m. doubleheader on Saturday, and the two teams will conclude the series Sunday with another 1 p.m. doubleheader. NKU, which won three of four games at Saint Josephs College last week, is 13-13 overall, 6-6 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Wisconsin-Parkside leads the GLVC with a 12-4 record, and the Rangers are 18-9 overall. NKU junior outfielder Alex Frank is batting .344 with eight doubles and two home runs. Frank has scored a team-leading 20 runs and has 16 runs batted in. Junior designated hitter Keith Jackson owns a .310 batting average and leads the Norse with 10 doubles. Jackson also has 12 RBI this season. Senior first baseman Jerrod Fraley is batting .294 with a team-leading three home runs. Fraley also has six doubles. Junior right-hander Rick Wood allowed just four hits in six innings last Sunday as NKU defeated Saint Josephs, 7-1. Wood, now 4-1 this season with a 4.09 earned run average, also finished with six strikeouts for the Norse. Junior reliever Justin Seiter has a 1.20 ERA and a 1-3 record this spring. |
