NKU SPLITS AT BELLARMINE

Unkraut leads Norse to win in first game

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Sophomore right-hander Chris Unkraut picked up his second straight win Wednesday afternoon as Northern Kentucky University defeated Bellarmine University, 11-2, in the first game of a doubleheader.

Unkraut, a graduate of Dixie Heights High School who is now 3-4 this season, allowed just three hits in six innings and had two strikeouts. Shaun Erie paced the NKU offense with three runs batted in, while teammate Justin Rahschulte scored three runs.

Steve Walton added two hits and scored two runs for the Norse.

In the nightcap, Bellarmine posted a 9-8 victory over the Norse. Walton and Chris Osterkamp paced the NKU offense with two RBI each.

NKU is now 21-20 overall, 12-7 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The Norse will play a three-game series at Lewis University this Saturday and Sunday.
