QUINCY SWEEPS DOUBLEHEADER FROM NKU
NKUs Aker denied 800th career victory again Sunday
HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - The Quincy University baseball team swept a doubleheader from Northern Kentucky University on Sunday afternoon by scores of 6-4 and 12-2 at Friendship Field.
Quincy won the first game when Ben Piatt hit a tie-breaking, two-run double in the top of the ninth inning to give the Hawks a 6-4 lead. In the second game, Kyle Pryors three-run double highlighted a seven-run outburst in the sixth inning as Quincy coasted to a 12-2 victory.
NKU, which has now lost six consecutive games, dropped to 20-20 overall, 4-11 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Quincy is now 30-9 overall, 11-5 in the GLVC.
NKU head coach Bill Aker remains at 799 career wins with the Norse, and he will attempt to record victory No. 800 this Wednesday on the road at the University of Indianapolis.
