IPFW DEFEATS NKU, 2-1, IN 16 INNINGS

Mastodons outlast Norse in 16-inning marathon

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Rob Rendle’s RBI single in the bottom of the 16th inning Monday gave Indiana-Purdue University at Fort Wayne a 2-1 victory over Northern Kentucky University.

Rendle’s game-winning hit enabled IPFW (9-17, 3-9 Great Lakes Valley Conference) to defeat NKU (19-14, 4-5 GLVC) for the second time in the three-game series. NKU and IPFW split a doubleheader on Sunday.
