NKU REPEATS AS ALL-SPORTS CHAMPION

NKU wins GLVC All-Sports Trophy for second straight year

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - For the second straight year, Northern Kentucky University has won the Great Lakes Valley Conference All-Sports Trophy. NKU won conference championships in women’s soccer, volleyball, women’s tennis and men’s golf during 2000-01 en route to capturing the GLVC All-Sports Trophy. The NKU women’s basketball team also shared the regular-season GLVC title with the University of Southern Indiana. The All-Sports Trophy is based on conference finishes in 10 sports (five men’s sports, five women’s sports). Each institution counts its best 10 finishes in the GLVC All-Sports Trophy standings. NKU finished with a total of 92 points in the All-Sports Trophy standings, while runner-up Southern Indiana had 91.5 points. Lewis University finished third with a total of 76.5 points.
