---Natalie Forbes leads the GLVC in assists at 12.98 apg. The junior setter from Highlands High School has directed NKU’s up-tempo offense to a .313 hitting percentage, which ranks No. 1 in the GLVC team statistics.

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Northern Kentucky University is ranked No. 22 nationally in the latest NCAA Division II poll, which is conducted by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.

NKU owns a 14-3 overall record, including a 3-1 slate in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The Norse dropped from No. 19 in last week’s poll after suffering a five-game loss to Lewis on Saturday.

WHERE THEY RANK: NKU senior middle hitter Liz Holmes leads the GLVC in hitting percentage at .484. Holmes, a graduate of Mercy High School in Cincinnati, ranks No. 3 in the GLVC in kills (4.20 kpg) and No. 5 in service aces (0.48 sapg).

Holmes enters this weekend’s matches at Saint Joseph’s (Friday at 8 p.m.) and Indianapolis (Saturday at 3 p.m.) with 1,551 career kills, which ranks fifth in Norse history. She needs 32 kills to pass Kerry Lewin (1,582 kills) for fourth place on the NKU all-time list. Jenny Huber (1,590 kills) is currently No. 3 in Norse history.

NKU junior setter Natalie Forbes leads the GLVC in assists (12.98 apg) in the latest statistics. The Highlands High School graduate has 792 assists this season and has directed an NKU offense that leads the GLVC in team hitting percentage at .313.

NKU senior outside hitter Tristen Dye leads the GLVC in service aces (0.59 sapg), and she is No. 6 in kills (4.03 kpg).

MILESTONE KILL: Kristina Eisenmenger, a junior right-side hitter, joined NKU's 1,000-kills club by smashing an attack in the second game Saturday against Lewis. The Notre Dame Academy graduate now has 1,010 career kills with the Norse. She joined Holmes and Dye as current NKU players to have reached that milestone.

TOUGH ‘HOUNDS: Indianapolis won all three meetings with NKU last season, including a four-game decision in the first round of the GLVC Tournament. The Greyhounds swept the regular-season series by identical 3-0 scores. Indianapolis has defeated NKU four consecutive times dating back to 2005.

The Norse’s last win against the Greyhounds came on Sept. 16, 2005, when NKU pulled out a five-game thriller against Indianapolis in Regents Hall. NKU’s last win at Indianapolis was on Oct. 29, 2004, another five-game battle in which the Norse prevailed. NKU leads the all-time series by a 34-7 margin.

Indianapolis enters this week with a 12-1 record and has won nine consecutive matches, including a road victory at Lewis.
