KENOSHA, Wis.
- Kristina Eisenmenger took advantage of Natalie Forbes’ setting
to record 16 kills and a .667 hitting percentage Friday night as
Northern Kentucky University swept past Wisconsin-Parkside, 30-20,
30-25, 30-15.
Eisenmenger,
a junior right-side hitter and a Notre Dame Academy graduate, did
not have an attack error and added three blocks as NKU held Wisconsin-Parkside
to a .123 hitting percentage. Forbes ran the NKU offense to a .353
hitting percentage by dishing out 44 assists. Forbes, a junior setter
from Highlands High School, also collected nine digs and two blocks.
Tristen Dye
added 13 kills and attacked at a .312 clip as the 23rd-ranked Norse
improved to 26-6 overall, 14-4 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.
Dye now has 993 career digs and is looking to become just the eighth
player in NKU history to record both 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs.
Liz Holmes -
who earlier this season joined the 1,000-digs club and is NKU’s
all-time leader with 1,799 kills - racked up a double-double Friday
with 12 kills and 10 digs. The senior middle hitter from Mercy High
School in Cincinnati also served up three aces.
Megan Dooley
also served up three aces for NKU, which upped its lead in the all-time
series with Wisconsin-Parkside to 23-1. Elizabeth Droessler, a native
of Cuba City, Wis., enjoyed a successful homecoming by recording
five kills, two blocks and a .444 hitting percentage.
Chelsea Clark
led the NKU defense with 16 digs, while Dooley added 11 digs. The
Norse finished with a 61-42 advantage in that category.
NKU closes out
the regular season Saturday with a 4 p.m. match against Lewis. Earlier
this season, Lewis pulled out a five-game thriller against NKU in
Regents Hall.
Lewis is 26-3
overall, 16-2 in the GLVC. The Flyers have clinched the No. 2 seed
from the GLVC East Division for the upcoming league tournament,
which will be held at Indianapolis Nov. 9-11.
NKU is the No.
3 seed from the GLVC East, and the Norse will meet Rockhurst - the
