INDIANAPOLIS - Lynne Ross recorded 10 kills and attacked at a .588 clip Saturday to lead Indianapolis to a three-game sweep over Northern Kentucky University at the Ruth Lilly Center.

Indianapolis won the match by scores of 30-27, 30-28, 30-19. The Greyhounds improved to 9-3 overall, 2-0 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.

NKU dropped to 5-7 overall, 2-1 in the GLVC. The Norse hit just .154, while Indianapolis finished at .283.

NKU built a 25-21 lead in the second game and appeared to be on the verge of taking the set after Liz Holmes converted a kill to give the Norse a 28-25 advantage. Indianapolis rallied, however, and scored the final five points to win the second game.

On the final point, Ross blocked an attack by Holmes to give the Greyhounds a 30-28 victory and a 2-0 lead in the match.

In the third game, Indianapolis hit .379 and coasted to the victory. Casey Chrzastowski led the Greyhounds with 11 kills, and Ross added five blocks.

Kristina Eisenmenger led NKU with 14 kills, and Tristen Dye finished with 10 kills. Holmes added eight kills, but the junior middle hitter was held to a .167 hitting percentage. Holmes now has 985 career kills at NKU.

Senior setter Andrea Lanham dished out 29 assists and served up two aces. Lindsay Zumdick added two service aces and six digs for NKU, which leads the all-time series with Indianapolis, 34-5.

NKU will play its home opener next Thursday night when NAIA power Georgetown (Ky.) visits Regents Hall for a 7 p.m. non-conference match.
