----Liz Holmes slams down a kill vs. KWC

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Megan Dooley did the serving, while Liz Holmes and Kristina Eisenmenger did the slamming Tuesday night against Kentucky Wesleyan.

Dooley, a freshman from St. Henry High School, served up five aces as NKU coasted past Kentucky Wesleyan, 30-19, 30-19, 30-13, in Regents Hall. The Norse finished with 15 aces as a team, including three straight winners from Tristen Dye during the third game.

Dooley's bazooka-like jump serve produced four aces in the opening game. NKU hit .286 in the first stanza and cruised to the sweep.

Holmes and Eisenmenger were on target with their attacks most of the evening and combined for 25 kills. Holmes finished with 15 kills and attacked at a .520 clip, while Eisenmenger added 10 kills and hit .529.

Holmes also served up two aces and had three solo blocks as NKU improved to 11-8 overall, 5-2 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Kentucky Wesleyan - now 0-34 all-time against NKU in volleyball - is 2-12 overall, 0-6 GLVC.

Andrea Lanham collected five kills, attacked at a .714 clip and 20 assists for NKU, which hit .327 for the match. Lindsay Zumdick served up three aces as the Norse extended their winning streak to three.

Dye led NKU with 10 digs, and Jennifer Wirtz had eight digs. Holmes and Dooley each finished with six digs as the Norse limited the Panthers to a .051 hitting percentage.

Natalie Forbes did the setting during the second game and had 12 assists and five digs.

The Norse hit the road for GLVC matches at Quincy (Friday at 8 p.m.) and Missouri-St. Louis (Saturday at 3 p.m.) this weekend. NKU returns home Oct. 6 to meet GLVC-leading Southern Illinois at Edwardsville in Regents Hall.
