KENOSHA, Wis. - Liz Holmes finished with 21 kills and 15 digs as Northern Kentucky University posted a 28-30, 30-24, 33-31, 30-22 win over Wisconsin-Parkside on Saturday.

Holmes also hit .450 and collected four blocks for NKU, which improved to 17-11 overall, 9-5 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The Norse overcame a 29-24 deficit in the third game to pull out a 33-31 victory, and the momentum switched to NKU in the final stanza.

NKU hit .405 in the fourth game and wrapped up the win, 30-22. The Norse converted 17 of 37 attacks with just two errors in the fourth game.

Tristen Dye added 17 kills and nine digs for the Norse, while Kristina Eisenmenger finished with 15 kills, four blocks and a .448 hitting percentage. Natalie Forbes did the setting and collected 50 assists for NKU, which hit .279 for the match.

Andrea Price and Lindsay Zumdick each recorded 11 digs for the Norse. Megan Dooley added 10 digs.

NKU is currently tied with Indianapolis for fourth place in the GLVC standings, and it appears those two teams will meet in the first round of the GLVC Tournament. Southern Illinois at Edwardsville has already clinched the No. 1 seed in the GLVC Tournament, which begins Nov. 2.

The Norse play host to non-conference opponent Findlay this Tuesday night at 7 p.m. in Regents Hall. Findlay is currently ranked 25th nationally in the Division II poll.

NKU closes out its GLVC regular-season schedule at home next weekend with matches against Drury (Friday at 7 p.m.) and Rockhurst (Saturday at 3 p.m.). The Norse will also play host to Charleston (W. Va.) on Oct. 30 at 7 p.m. before leaving for the GLVC Tournament.
