HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Kristina Eisenmenger celebrated her 20th birthday in style Tuesday night as Northern Kentucky University defeated Bellarmine for the 29th consecutive time on the volleyball court. Eisenmenger finished with 13 kills for NKU, which coasted to a 32-30, 30-27, 30-24 win over Bellarmine in Regents Hall. Andrea Price also collected 13 kills and hit .458 with four blocks as the Norse won their fourth straight match and improved to 16-10 overall, 8-4 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Liz Holmes slammed down 11 kills and hit .526 for NKU, which has not lost to Bellarmine since the 1992 GLVC Tournament. Holmes, who was named GLVC Player of the Week on Monday, also had three blocks and three service aces. A graduate of Mercy High School in Cincinnati, Holmes now has 1,178 career kills. She needs six kills to move into eighth place on the Norse's all-time career list in that category. Andrea Lanham dished out 44 assists and added nine digs, while teammate Megan Dooley served up five aces and led the team with 11 digs. Dooley's serving was also instrumental during the first game as NKU rallied from a 27-22 deficit to post a 32-30 victory. Dooley served four points as NKU tied the opening game at 28-all, and she then perfectly placed an attack on the Bellarmine side of the court to even the score at 29-all. Holmes later gave the Norse a 31-30 lead with a kill, and NKU won the game when Lanham and Liz Droessler combined to block an attack by Bellarmine's Kelly Krucki. The Norse hit .484 in the second game en route to a 30-27 win and completed the sweep by holding Bellarmine to a .054 hitting percentage in the third stanza. NKU attacked at a .349 clip for the match, while Bellarmine hit just .185. NKU is now 53-8 all-time against Bellarmine, which dropped to 9-10 overall, 4-7 in the GLVC. NKU hits the road for GLVC matches against Lewis (Friday) and Wisconsin-Parkside (Saturday) this weekend. The Norse will play host to Findlay Oct. 24 in Regents Hall. Findlay is currently ranked 25th nationally in the Division II poll.
