TAMPA, Fla. - Liz Holmes and Kristina Eisenmenger each recorded 17 kills to lead Northern Kentucky University to a 24-30, 30-16, 30-16, 29-31, 15-10 victory over St. Edward's (Texas) on Saturday.

Holmes also attacked at a .600 clip and added 10 digs as NKU picked up its first victory of the season. The junior middle hitter from Mercy High School in Cincinnati also added four block assists.

Eisenmenger hit .406 for NKU, while Andrea Lanham added 43 assists, five service aces and 11 digs. Tristen Dye finished with 12 kills, 12 digs and a .320 hitting percentage.

NKU won the fifth game by attacking at a .333 clip and allowing St. Edward's (0-2) to hit just .130 in the final stanza.

St. Edward's used a strong serving game (22 aces) to force NKU into a five-game match. The Norse collected 14 aces as a team and finished with a 66-42 edge in digs.

Kayla Payne led St. Edward's with 14 kills.

NKU concluded its Florida trip later Saturday night by dropping a four-game decision against No. 15 Lock Haven (Pa.). Inga Kurgonaite had 15 kills to lead Lock Haven, which pulled out a pair of two-point wins in the final two games.

Eisenmenger led NKU (1-4) with 16 kills. Dye notched her second double-double of the day with 13 kills and 16 digs, and Lanham dished out 40 assists and tallied 14 digs.

Holmes hammered down 12 kills to raise her career total to 924. She also added four service aces and seven digs against Lock Haven.

NKU will resume play next weekend at the Ashland Tournament. The Norse meet Wheeling Jesuit at 2 p.m. Friday. NKU will also play Palm Beach Atlantic later that evening at 6 p.m.

The next day, NKU will meet defending NCAA Division II national champion Grand Valley State at 9 a.m., followed by a match against No. 9 North Alabama at 1 p.m.
